Luxxfolio announced on October 5 a proposed collaboration with Hypercall. Luxxfolio would sell covered calls on a portion of its Litecoin and Dogecoin holdings, and Hypercall would fast-track support for LTC and DOGE options on its exchange on Hyperliquid.
About Luxxfolio
Luxxfolio is a Canadian public company focused on Litecoin mining, treasury growth and infrastructure. It operates a Scrypt mining fleet in British Columbia and is developing LuxxPool, its own Litecoin-focused mining software platform, initially for its own fleet and ultimately for third-party miners. It is listed on the CSE as LUXX, on the OTCQB as LUXFF and in Frankfurt as LUH0.
Its strategy is Litecoin-first, with a long-term objective of accumulating Litecoin. The proposed program is meant to add a secondary revenue stream alongside mining that supports that goal.
“Our goal is to work with Hypercall to build a secondary revenue stream that supports our Litecoin-first accumulation strategy,” said Tomek Antoniak, CEO and Director of Luxxfolio.
How the program would work
The collaboration is set out in a non-binding letter of intent dated October 4, 2026. Under it:
- Luxxfolio would determine how much of its LTC and DOGE to allocate, the strike prices it finds acceptable, and the option expiries. Each call sold would be backed by the corresponding underlying assets.
- Hypercall intends to fast-track support for LTC and DOGE options, arrange market-maker participation and liquidity for the program, and help Luxxfolio onboard and access the product.
The parties intend to start with an initial allocation and consider expanding based on liquidity, execution quality and Luxxfolio’s treasury objectives.
Why LTC options
Litecoin is a $5.5 billion asset with active spot and perp markets: $98 million of perp open interest on Binance and $49 million on Hyperliquid as of October 5, 2026. Deribit, Binance, Bybit and OKX list no LTC options. DOGE options open interest on Bybit is about 0.5% of DOGE’s Binance perp open interest.
On the largest venues, then, LTC holders have no listed way to sell upside for income, and traders have no way to buy it. Listing LTC and DOGE options for this program would change that.
Why covered calls fit a miner
The holder owns the asset and sells someone the right to buy it above a set price, the strike, until a set date, for a premium paid up front. If the price stays below the strike, the holder keeps the asset and the premium. If it finishes above, the holder gives up the gain above the strike.
For a miner, the appeal is earning on coins it already holds. Miners earn coins every day, and many sell part of them to cover power and hosting. Selling covered calls generates premium from the treasury without selling it. The cost is upside above the strike for the option’s term.
The downside is unchanged: the premium does not protect against a fall in the asset’s price. Our Insights article runs the strategy against every month of LTC since 2018.
What comes next
The letter of intent is non-binding. It does not require either party to commit assets or execute trades, and it sets no minimum trading volume or exclusivity. Implementation remains subject to mutually agreed terms and any required internal or regulatory approvals. There can be no assurance that the program will start or generate positive returns, and it does not guarantee growth in Luxxfolio’s Litecoin holdings.
Luxxfolio also sees potential to work together on future LuxxPool features, including more diverse payout options for mining participants. Those would be evaluated separately.
About Hypercall
Hypercall is a 24/7 on-chain options exchange built on Hyperliquid. It offers fractional options with no minimum trade size and connects options trading directly to Hyperliquid’s perpetual markets for hedging. Hypercall is building toward a broader market spanning crypto, equities, indices and real-world assets.
Market data as of October 5, 2026: market caps from CoinGecko, perp open interest from Binance and Hyperliquid, options open interest from Bybit, venue listings from the Deribit, Binance, Bybit and OKX public APIs. Smaller venues, including PowerTrade and BitMEX, list LTC options. Hypercall is a party to the proposed collaboration. Not financial advice.
